DPF Light Flashing

Hello there,

Wonder if I can pick an experts brain please :-). My son has an L200 Mk5 2017 plate. The DPF light has been flashing. He took it to a mechanics. Code was indicating that the oil level was too high. Mechanic confirmed that it was too high in Sump. He drained and changed oil. Changed filters. Took it for a good drive. My son at least twice a week travels on a motorway at speed anyway so the vehicle does get good runs. However, DPF light has remained flashing. Mechanic has suggested that it could be a sensor in the Sump? Does this sound right for a 2017 model? Either that he said or it could need a ECU reset. Just generally looking for some advice please. It is due an MOT end of August which of course it will fail on. Car has and still is running just fine. No oil leakage. When attached to a diagnostics it still comes up saying oil level too high. Thanks in advance
