l200 wont rev

#1 by porkie , Fri Jan 13, 2017 9:53 pm

Have a 2007 l200.All good till it gets up to operating temperature. Then at 2200 rpm it is as if the ignition has been turned off, limp mode to the extreme,if you ease of the throttle and re apply,no good.If you dip the clutch and accelerate all is fine again till you reach 2200rpm then same again. If you drive below 2200 rpm drives without fault. No engine management light on.

Make sure this pipe isnt blocked or split
You will need poke a thin screwdriver into the tube on the engine.

Suction control valve its on the side of the fuel pump about £56 easy to change it may solve your problem if going into limp more but will need plugging I to a computer to program so either a Mitsubishi or if you know so done who has delphi code reading kit

Turns out it has just had a new egr, scv, crankshaft position sensor and fuel filter.Previous owner then run out of money or the will to live.I managed to speak to the sparkie who had worked on it.He also spoke of a disparity in the temperature and there were some air pockets in the cooling system.Took it out again this morning and as usual runs correctly till the temperature gauge gets to the quarter mark and then does the usual.Any thoughts.

when they changed the scv did they put it on a computer and do the self learn?
goto http://faq.out-club.ru/download/l200_200...07/index_M1.htm

on left hand side
set type to service manual
change my to 2007 (probably no need as its more than likely exactly the same for later models)
click option 13a diesel fuel
click on vehicle service
click suction control valve check
on the right hand page click the blue arrow
on right page scroll down and click the blue arrow for supply pump correction learning
following the learning procedure

you need to have a proper piece of kit a standard code reader will not be able to do the self learn we did mine with the delphi (ds150 cloned copy) cant remember exactly how to find the page to do the self learn but it is on there you just have to look around the menus if not its a trip to mitsubishi for them to do it or any other trusted garage

when i did mine i had the same issues changed the scv but without doing the above kept going into limp mode when it was hooked up also reset steering angle, injector learning and whatever other self learn options there were at the time

just seen of you leave it on 2012 then select 13a on the left side then suction control valve all instructions are on the right page with the self learn link in the removal steps box

The garage that worked on it do repairs for the local main dealer,so i assume they have the proper equipment.

They might have the lot but don't count on them actually plugging it in and relearning it

Did you make sure the small boost pipe wasn't blocked where it fits to the engine or pipe split?
