ZX7RED's Truck Tinkering

#1 by zx7red , Tue Jun 25, 2013 12:04 am

Well as every one else seem's to be writing a blog about their trucks, I thought I would join the club!

So Far it's had the following mod/upgrades:

Engine had new head and rebuild at 62000
Larger inter-cooler
Air horns
K+N induction kit
2" body lift with extended front brake lines
A bar fitted with what were supposed to be stainless lights(chrome)
CB fitted with whip aerial
Snugtop resprayed in black
winch electrics run to the tow bar
Stainless exhaust from Cybox

The following list are to be done and there will be lots of photo's to follow:

Clean it from the weekend(not trying to become one of the "gleam Team")
ARB winch bumper to be repaired, modified and fitted
Winch to be installed in the bumper
New spot and fog lights to be fitted
CB aerial to be re sited to the bumper
New shackles fitted to the rear
Re fit the decat pipe
Blank the EGR
Fit the second scoop to the bonnet.

Not that long a list of jobs to do!

Yoda, Its just a one that was bought during a group buy on the other site, almost the same as the standard just a little larger. I'll get some photo's though.

Right first job on the list is done, cleaned it to keep the Mrs happy! Started to try and polish all the scratch marks out from the last year of green lanes.

Not the easiest job to do by hand but I'll keep at it until the weekend and see what the boys think!

Also started sorting out the winch bumper, couple of dents and some mod's needed before fitting to the truck. Got the winch stripped to test fit then realized I'd run out of M10 stainless bolts the right length, Doh!

Quick run to screwfix for some new bolts.

Todays purchase comprised an EGR blanking plate, Electrical switch for the winch and a snorkel.

All to be fitted next time I'm home!

Top work Ed, I had a feeling a snorkel was next on your list. Your truck is turning into a monster ........ albeit a muddy one
Deffo going down your route for the gear lever gaiters on mine though

Got no chance of the Mrs doing anything with the truck!

Kurt, sorry to say this but it's been cleaned and polished since I saw you. Looks good though, just got to be brave cutting in to the wing for the snorkel fitting.

I've got the bathroom to do through the day and play with the truck at night.

Taking a day off to sleep and take her shopping before she starts her course to be a school councilor! 2 years of 1 day a week! might get her to wash the truck

that's an impressive list bud, there is enough there to fill 123's entire garage floor
and it also answers my question on your choice of wheels and tyres (which are bigger than what I've got on mine ..... but not for long hopefully)

I think stormforce did something along those lines then had to "bespoke" the top of his garage door to get his back out again
