Automatic gearbox failing...!?

Hi folks,

First time on the forum, pleasure to meet you all. Have some concerns about a 2013 L200 Barbarian I just purchased. It's done circa 67,000 miles. Everything has been great so far after 1 week (knock on wood!) but today I experienced an issue...

Whilst on the duel carriageway on cruise control, the truck shifted down a gear to keep up with the hill. I didn't think it was a particularly steep hill however the truck was struggling to keep speed and felt like it was stuttering. I took it out of cruise control, came down to around 50 mph, then tried to accelerate but it stuttered again when trying to pass 60 mph. The truck has been fine since. I haven't tackled that hill again on cruise control but the return journey had no issues. There were some smaller inclines that it handled no problem on cruise control.

Should I be concerned...? A while back I had a 2002 BMW with an SMG gearbox that began failing after around 8 years. The stuttering feeling was vaguely reminiscent of that!

Any thought or advice would be very welcome...

Thanks a lot,
Mike

Firstly I'd check the oil levels in the gearbox
