5+2,3+2,4and 1 even saw 6plus 2. Wtaf. Which leaf springs do I want to get

#1 by Littlered-foosty , Mon May 09, 2022 8:16 pm

Oooookay helpful folks.
A couple of months now into the weekend pavement Princess.
Its had the torsion bars maxed and not flipped the ball joints. Its just been wou d all the way up
It was a dog to drive, like even worse than I suspected it should be.
So I check the tyre pressure.. 60 pissys in each corner.
No wonder it was as scatty as a spaniel on speed.
It is much better now I've put it back to something sensible.
But to get to the subject.
I continued to nosey about the suspension.
I noted that the rear springs don't match . That doesn't sit with me well .
What a can of worms I've opened by looking for some new ones.
I'm thinking I'm going to be getting some shackles and shit anyway from @123hotchef
So advice on new springs and fuckit why not , shocks too is appreciated

Ta

Jamie

ok speak to luke at midland road springs his are decent springs that dont invert in a few weeks/months.
How many leafs depends on what you plan to carry and what you want to do with the truck.
More leeafs the stiffer and perhaps higher it will be but it can make for a very bumpy ride with no weight in it or towing.

As the ball joint flip goes what is the gap like in between the upper arm and upper bump stop?

Thanks,
I'll be sure to say he was recommended.
As for the bump stops , given the clang it does off kerbs, they may be missing but ill check later on the day 🙄

I'm forgetting that I had meant to add that front and rear from hub centre to bottom of arch is 23 and 24 inches.
I have nothing to reference this against.
That is , obviously the front isn't standard , as for the rear. Honestly, I dunno
