Hi all. I live in France and so sometimes it is difficult to follow everything my 'garagiste' here is telling me so a little advice from you out there would be very welcome.
He tells me that the fault codes indicate a problem with the controler for the fuel injection pump - but as it is of the electric - fly by wire variety it is difficult to repair because after replacement the ecu needs to re learn what has been fitted.
What do you think, is it really that difficult and can the electrical controller be replaced without having to replace the complete fuel pump.
Your advice is most welcome please !
cheers

What model? If it's K74, just replace the component - no relearn is needed.
'02 K74 single cab.

thanks for your reply - I don't know why my mechanic was making such a fuss.
Is it just the controler ( is that what it is called) which I need to replace?
You don't by any chance have its correct name do you - or even better, a part number?
Thanks once more for you help
