New shape steering wheel removal...

#1 by A20TNE , Sat Aug 24, 2013 11:03 am

Hi all, I've just purchased a steering wheel for my 07 warrior from an 07 animal, that had only done 35,000 miles - bought as mine is all worn and horrible. I've tried to find some info on whether or not this would be an easy thing to do myself, I'm fairly mechanically minded, know a bit about electronics so would rather do it myself if I can. I can't seem to find a definitive answer though, so could anyone tell me if this is an easy job, or if there is a guide somewhere? All i can really seem to grasp is that the battery needs to be disconnected for at least 20 mins to let the SRS system and all of its components drain completely. Any more light would be appreciated!
Cheers =)

There is a How To:- for the Squib ring (under the steering wheel) in the workshop section, that should cover all the info you need mate.

Just had a look but it doesn't really give much info? I'm looking for a guide or info right from the start, removing airbag cover, airbag, remove steering wheel and reversal. =)

Any chance you could rewrite that link? As it doesn't come up with anything for me.

For some reason I can't link it, if you go into the workshop manuals, power steering, steering wheel, steering wheel removal, hope that helps.

All done and new steering wheel in place, no deployed airbags, so all good! Not that hard a job tbh, just the prospect of the airbag issue. But all done, and thanks again for the great advice and help. =)

I need to add this into the manuals front page but, for now, here's the link to the Manuals search page.

http://l200.kwolo.com:8080/

Try typing "squib", for example.
