Evening all.

Anybody fitted one of these to their oil filter?

Seen a few reviews and cheap if bought direct from UK agents (Blue Diamond).


2008 Diamond Auto Reef Blue 89k miles
Bought August 2013 with 78k miles
Vented and drilled discs and Brembo pads, all new belts, new water pump, new crankshaft front oil seal at 85k miles
K & N filter at 89k miles
GG 265 70 17 Aug 2015
Dec 2015 132k miles

Only point as I have always said, if you have metal bits in your oil, you don't need a magnet, you need a rebuild...... Something is badly wrong and the magnet will ot repair it....
Please do not waste your money on these, not worth the paper the advert is on, unless you need something to hold scanners to the side of the truck while you're working on it...

they do stick magnetic sump plugs in the diffs and boxes though

Lee you will always get some wear in a diff or gearbox, that's why we can adjust the backlash and run EP oil, this is due to the extreme pressures between the gears, but no such pressures exist inside the engine, otherwise we would run roller bearings in he big ends and mains.
It was done once in an engine and it would happily rev to 17 K RPM.... Too costly and unnecessary so never went into production.
