Probably if that's all that concerns you! In 4h I find it rests against my thigh at times and it's actually painful!

As long as it isn't making horrible noises it's probably fine.

Take a look at your gearbox mounting under the passenger side, its a break off (floating type bush)
Mine had collapsed and the bolt was catching on the bracket, about £18 from Milner 4x4.
