LFD Rock Sliders - need work - FOC apart from a £40 forum donation

#1 by Willibob , Sun Mar 30, 2014 12:10 am

I bought these from Leyland Fab Design for my 06 Classic.

When I unpacked them I found that they were scratched and the paint had ridges in it.

I decided to fit them anyway and found that the drivers side one had the wrong angle for the mounting plate to meet the side of the chassis rail properly.

This means that it will need the front leg to be removed, ground to the correct angle and welded back on.

I've had a refund from LFD and they've said I can keep them so if they're any use to anyone then I just want them gone and a £40 donation made to the forum.

Collection from Fintry, G63 postcode.

Cheers

Bill

Cool.

I bought the lower bit of the L200 dashboard (where the stereo goes) off Stormy. Would you be able to drop that off when you pick the sliders up?

Don't be daft. I told you I wasn't in a rush for it. Just thought it would make sense and save Al posting it if Rob can bring it with him.

Cheers

Bill

Of course I'm sure.

I only bought it so I could see if I could fit a double din head unit into it by removing the cup holder.

I might have a new idea for that by making an enclosure for a double din unit to sit on the top of the dash where the binnacle/pod thingy sits but then I need to find an alternative spot for that.

Might be one of those projects that I never get round to starting.
