anyone near stevenage thats clued up on wires? just cant figure out the stereo problem but also got window/mirrors not working off the drivers door control panel. started to get to me now,keep looking but no idea what im doing and nothing seems to be out of place to me. fuses are fine

Any broken wires in the door loom? Had the same problem with my 2007 Audi A4.

its an 03 plate. have checked fuses,tried to earth the lead by stereo,all the wires going thro door are encased in bigger protection wrap and i know so little about cars and electrics i dont really want to start ripping things off when i dont know what im doing. was hoping to find a helpful member near stevenage who did know lots. apart from these little niggles im loving me truck

you could always take the door pannel off and test each wire with a ohm meter inside the door pannel and inside the truck to confirm if one or more wires are damaged in the protective wrap

has the window switch never worked since you had the truck or has it stopped working recently ?

Doddi. you could always bring it to Basildoom... then I could check it out for you...
I'll still see if I can find something that would cause all of this to happen in one go..

think im gonna have to get it looked at properly. i keep taking things off and looking but im just not clued up enough and have no testing gadgets. the electric mirrors switch has not worked since ive had it,the window stopped working the day i tried fixing stereo :$

woohoo, sorted stereo. for some reason the earth was no good on the metal plate,had to fix it elsewhere

Hey Doddi... Stevenage is dead close to me. Live out in Harpenden and work in Welwyn.... Do you fancy getting your truck muddy? There are plenty of opportunities to meet up with some other local loons for fun and frolics. Keep an eye out in the south east section or for posts about "No Pay and Play".

In fact, if you dragged your (shiny looking) truck along to one such playtime there could be a few people, myself included, who could take a look at your wiring. Not half as qualified as Lez mind but handy enough with a multimeter
