Alarm fob

Just got a new fob case and battery. Took the gust out of the old one and replaced the battery,put it back in new casing. Now it won't work,do i need to rest the fob as iv'e taken the battery out. If so how do i do it,thanks in advance.

I done this with an ebay jobby, swapped it all over and worked fine but I dont remember if I took the battery out or not.

does it need to be paired up with the truck again ?
someone may know, I'm sure there was talk of holding a button for a certain amount of time ? anyone ?
not got an alarm myself
