Being a cat D, how much would that de- value it when you want to get rid of it?
Any other issues to be aware of?
Do you have to have a vosa inspection or something like that?

Cat D is the least badly damaged of the 4 main categories. The main issue you may have is getting insurance. Also, get someone to inspect it first. A load of damaged cosmetic panels may mean it wasn't repairing to the insurance company but has no effect of the mechanics and the way the car drives. It simply wasn't worth the money changing the damaged panels. However, a damaged chassis will have massive effects on the mechanics and isn't worth buying unless you are serious handy with a welder and spanner! The only way to be sure if to get RAC or someone who knows their stuff to give it a once over. There's no requirement for a vosa inspection for cat D.

Says its Burn damage in the description bit....but as Nick says, why haven't the insurance company done it? Surely the wheel arches aren't that expensive? Is there something else they are not showing............

A set of wheel arches would only be a few hundred quid. Looks like heat damage but why hasn't it affected the paint above the arches? Wonder if there is any mechanical damage or fire damage underneath.

Would be a new for old policy Would be advisable to check wiring down that side but I have seen worse & it was OK. No problem to insure!!!
