Stick it as high up as possible id say. I want to put mine behind the back seats so it cant suck up a load of muddy water as im not sure where the intake is on it. The standard mounting place is on the tube crossmember above the axle.

Antonio, it seems that the green wire does not exist in L200 land mate... all the wiring diagrams from 1998 on say 2 wire plug on the compressor, it has a built in pressure switch that shuts the compressor down when it has built up enough pressure for the axle.. a built in solenoid valve maintains the pressure and is opened when the power is removed, to release the Diff Lock.

Stick it behind the rear seat, just drop the pipe down to the axle, much easier to wire too...

The pump is mounted on a braket on the chassis cross member just above the axle, there is no need to mount it higher unles you are going to switch it on & off whilst in water. when the difflock is switched on the pump only runs for about 5 secs to move the gears inside the diff then switched of & holds the pressure. when it is switched off all it does is release the pressure.

basicly dont fart about with it when in the mucky stuff engage it at the start & leave it.
