Did we get any further on the parts that are failing?Used truck last night after lying for a week and zap 16v right off the gauge.It had been fine since Kirton and now suddenly it's the annual "buy an alternator time"

regulator gone cany you just get thet part for the alternator

Have you checked it with a multimeter Rab, mine used to wander between 12 and about 15 volts but put a meter on it and it read a steady 13.5 volts

Same happened to me. Regulator goes. Mine went a few days after devils pit and wading down a river. The damage seems to happen after its all dried out etc.

Greig,I will put my meter on it today but I'm not hopefull :-(
Everything had been fine when I left the truck at Prestwick airport last week then on heading home last night I flashed the full beam on and suddenly I had no dipped beam and my abs light came on ? With the volts suddenly off the scale.Drove home slowly with full beam and a hot battery at the end ;-( Waiting to see if this weather clears then I'll lift the bonnet.
I had used the battery isolator switch so I didn't have a flat battery on my return as I have a leakage to the ignition side that I can't source.Also at the end of last noughts journey the lights would dim when not revving hard though showing 16 v ,New battery 18 months ago with 4 year warranty.

I'll take it please, not gonna be getting to the NPAP day coming up, got to much stuff on at work and not enough time to fit it all in so having to do some weekend stuff, could you chuck it at Lee for me please..

How hard is he to chuck it at Lee?....just wondered coz if quite hard mark sure he's not be a truck.....don't want to damage a truck ( or the alternator ) ...hehe...

yeah no worries, I wont make it to Westerham on the 6th so I will take it to the no pay and play and hand it over.
