Torsion bars settings

#1 by Chillthorne27 ( Guest ) , Sat Oct 04, 2014 8:22 pm

I have a tyre wear problem on the front .
Both outer shoulders wear abnormilay I'm pretty sure the torsion bars have been wound up by a previous owner as all other steering / suspension have been replaced and tracking done for its mot ? I'm ok on the principal of the job but what would be the standard measurement and would it have been wound up due to weak front springs ??
Cheers

Highly unlikely the torsion bars are weak, check and see if the front suspension is sitting on the upper rubber bump stop.. if so they are just wound up too much..

Ok so it wouldn't mean my front suspension springs are weak it's may have been done just for extra ride height not saggy suspension ?

Very likely, fronts are harder to lift, rears are just shackles ..
