Strange noise

Out and about today,when taking foot of the accelerator there a strange noise sounds a bit like something is catching or grinding. Could it be the drive shaft?? any ideas welcome so i can get it checked out cheers.

can you describe the noise.....using made up noises like arrrrrrrr grrrrraaaaaaaa etc

that dont make sense maybe ya cant hear it over the engine noise when foot is on the gas
