That's what i meant.. it is on 1 when the pins are not connected to anything. Maybe it is meant to be like that or are you getting a reading off yours ?

1 means infinite mate like if the two probes aint connected. so the sensor is fooked,

touch the 2 probes u get 0 right as the meter calibrates itself

test a wire u get its reststance

u should get some kinda reading from the sensor a 1 means there infinite 0 has a meaning

1 is" air intake pressure sensor".......that is the one i don't know how to test and the other looks like some kind of temperature sensor and that is the one i can't get a reading off..

does anyone know it's propper name so i can get one from somewhere as a google doesn't even show a picture of one !

RE: Throttle body sensor ?

ok found it

intake air temp sensor

My theory so far........the air temp sensor tells the ecu it is cold so close the butterfly and allow more fuel to air ratio to allow the car to start. This is not working so the butterfly is staying wide open and thus the car is difficult to start !.....

can anyone confirm or deny this theory as i have just completely made it up in a clutching at straws type way .......

Bart, just reading your last post .......... you dont have a power upgrade chip fitted to yours do you ? only ask as some of the aftermarket "magic" boxes that are available work their magic by fooling the ECU and telling it different values so as to change the fuel air mixture. Is it possible that you have an upgrade chip that is faulty ? it's not unheard of

No the butterfly will.be open fully mate unless the truck has a problem. The butterfly is just a safety feature to stop the engine running away in the even of a problem. Get that sensor changed if it has no resistance

I am gonna change it but wanted to know what exacty it does ?

what operates the butterfly ?

Just tryng to get my head round it..... there is something making it hard to start and a flat spot on pulling away apart from that it runs fine,

It doesn't have a power upgrade fitted krutly and tbh it doesn't need one as it goes plenty fast enough when it's going it's just the getting going is the problem LOL

If the butterfly is always open fully would it not be getting too much air for the air to fuel ratio to be correct ?

I dont think so mate it will only take what it can/needs it works the other way for saftey it will close and stop most of the air making the truck run poorly

At least i think am gonna change it as i can't find anywhere that sells one ?+£$@

Lot's of reading later this little sensor could be the cause of nearly all my greif with the crap starting as it does indeed tell the ecu how much fuel/ air is needed to start the damn thing

Anyone breaking anything or have one of these sitting doing nowt ?

Even mitzy can't get hold of one for at least a week (coming on donkey from japan ) and it is only £35 +vat so IF i can find one from another source they should be peanuts.

Anyone know a good site to get part numbers off so i can cross reference it ?

Thanks phil !

Only problem is the part i want is not in that picture ?......

On top of the throttle there is the boost pressure sensor ( i can see that in the pic ) but to the left of that on mine there is another sensor which is screwed into the elbow and it is called a intake air temperature sensor or AIT

SO if you had one with that on then that would be great

cheers
