over heating

hi, travelled about 35 miles,and had to stop 4 times to let engine cool down,water in header tank boiling,and temp gauge upto red,yet when i traveled back the next day,engine was fine,ive changed stat,and water pump,any help appreciated,

Hmmm...do you get any bubbling in the header tank at idle?

As chef says, change the cap , let's start small and rule out the little things...

if you have had a pressure test done that rules out some things

I would blank the egr and remove the cooler too first

I done a pressure test on my classic changed rad cap header tank cap Egr removed new temp sensor thermostat was still the head you might have caught it early but narrow all the other options down first you can get a head tester kit off fleece bay for 20 quid the gas in the water system one can't get a link thing up Bild entfernt (keine Rechte) but here's a pic of the egr

I'm off Friday if you want to pop over I'll show you how to take Egr off but you will need a blanking kit fleeseya bay 10 or12 quid I have silicone pipe and tools
