classic truck value?

#1 by cackhanded , Mon Jul 06, 2015 4:22 pm

Put the truck on ebay and on autotrader couple of days ago, on ebay i've had 15 views and theres 1 watcher, on autotrader its showing 60 views,(no sure how honest those figures are) but i have not had a single phone call or message.
I have put it on at £3450,obviously thats a figure i expect to get knocked down on, but i was wondering what you guys thought? have i over done it on the price or does it look about right.
Trying to put a value on a truck you invested a lot of time and money in is not easy, but i think its overall condition is pretty good and mechanically its miles better than when i bought it.
So any suggestions would be welcome.

Hmm..tough one..the milagage is at the higher end and it is only a 4 life..I would expect round the 2500 mark assuming it's in good condition.your main problem is,the market is flooded with choice some are really good, most are sheds..I would expect mine to be valued at circa 3500 mine 03 warrior full service history mainly dealer.and to be fair.probably the best example I've seen on this year..so I would personally put yours about 2500 mark..you can ask @surfer he's just sold his, similar spec.

Hope that helps

The issue is,you can plough thousands into getting it running right..but it's now running like every other l200 so you can't add the value of parts time ect to it...it's painful but true

I think you're asking a bit much TBH, but its your call. Daz is right, spending 10,000 smackers on a 50 quid vehicle still leaves you with a 50 quid vehicle. Beyond 7 or 8 years old used vehicles are worth less than the sum of their parts.

Chuck in the hot weather, about the worst time of year to punt on a big fourbie, and you're really up against it. Still and all, good luck. I'd ask 2750 to get them in, but be prepared to take any offer over 2250. I'm measuring that against what I paid for my own 4life with a lot less miles, full history and 6 months warranty

Appreciate all the replies, i realise i'm not going to recoup all i have done to it, and that most buyers will not know a l200 shed from a l200 gem, and there lies my problem, my truck does,nt run like every other l200, it runs better than 90% of them, but it's only when you get one and live with it and start sorting stuff out that you know a good un from one to be avoided.
All that said i think you might be right and a rethink on price will probably be on the cards.
