Turbo overboost

Hi all, I have a 2010 L200 and on a recent holiday it went into Limp home mode when accelerating uphill (not excessive acceleration 3rd gear just app' 3000 rom) it did this twice over 500 miles . It has only 35,000 miles on clock so not heavily used. Took in for checking and being advised it may need a new turbo ?? or ECR ?? , I have seen a few posts on this and wondered if any one had similar problems and what was their solution ?? many thanks

I would get the EGR valve cleaned first, easy job it just un bolts.
Do not switch the ignition on with it un plugged, it will put the EML on.
Also buy a can of Forte Advanced Diesel Treatment off ebay £12ish and stick it in a tank of diesel, then see how you go.
Its a cheap fix if it works.
