Starting issues

#1 by dazmanf , Mon Dec 07, 2015 7:46 am

Looking advice.
New head put in 6000 miles ago, New stack pipes and filter, fuel lines checked, fuel prime always solid, crank shaft pulley just replaced.

When starting from cold, the truck finds it hard to turn over, I find that I have to pump and then hold throttle pedal in as its trying to start.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

one tooth out would cause starting issues as would CSS especially when cold

I would rule out the simple stuff first just take the buss bar off and check each one with a meter no need to take them out
