Fuel in oil on 2014 model

#1 by Bungle ( Guest ) , Tue Mar 08, 2016 7:57 pm

I keep getting fuel in the oil and they say it's the dpf just wanted to know if any one else has had the problem.
And I do a lot of miles no short runs so it's not that

I find that hard to understand , why would a dpf put fuel in the oil?

take it its a mitsi dealer telling you this?

Isn't the dpf on the exhaust system ,
Wasn't there a post a short while ago about newer models getting fuel in the oil and it was something to do with pipework by the rocker cover leaking fuel onto the top of the engine which then runs down into the block and into the oil .

Yes, its what happens to modern engines, you need to change the oil. Its called oil degrigation. Its all to do with eco emissions.

with the dpf its excessive fuel that drains past the piston over time or when it fails a regen as to get it hot it injects more fuel in to burn whats in the dpf and get it cooking. thats why on the dipstick theres min and max and above the max is a X so level goes above max then when it hits the x it needs a change. bit pointless having a max if theres a 2nd max to allow for fuel in the oil .... thats why i say engines peaked when the euro ratings and emmision laws ruined them.
i mean how far do they want to take it some new trucks pump out cleaner air than what it sucks in fact. so why keep going turning motors into problem prone junk imo

Not telling anyone how to suck eggs here but...
When u put the oil in don't put it to Max like 3 1/4 up just under the max your better off.
