Ultrasonic exclusion facility on Barbarian L200

#1 by kazzybee ( Guest ) , Sun Mar 13, 2016 10:54 pm

Hi all my name is Karen from Dudley, West Midlands. I purchased a brand new series 4 Barbarian L200 from Mitsubishi in November 2015. I took vehicle home and the following day, the foot well was full of water. I returned it and was informed it would take a day to sort, I was rang at the end of that day to be told "it's a gromit issue & we have to order the part". I collected the car 10 days later, all sorted.[banana2]
1 big draw for me was the fact I can secure the vehicle and leave the dogs in without setting the alarm off. I have used that facility about 6 times but now it's not working. It's called ultrasonic exclusion facility, you turn the ignition on & off twice, you then wait to hear 3 bleeps then you alight the vehicle and lock as usual with the remote key fob.
So now we do the on/off twice and we just get 1 bleep and nothing else happens. I have emailed Mitsubishi (still waiting for a reply).
All I want is some suggestions as to what I have possibly done incorrectly, pushed an incorrect button.
Any suggestions as to what I can do/try would be very helpful. I will await a reply with everything crossed.
Kind regards
Karen

If you leave the dogs in the truck and lock it using the key will this not give you the desired effect ?
@Nick @FoxyChris @Gezza @animal @paul hoolie may be able to give you useful advice

Didn't this type of question come up in a thread what's this button for about a week ago and it appears to be for that ability to leave dogs in the car without an internal alarm

That's what the button below is for.
Press it once before you lock the truck with the fob, turns the Infra Reds off 1 time only.
Or if the truck is locked with the key that will also turn them off.

Thank you for the replies. The booklet states the alarm is Thatchem cat 1 & the ultrasonic exclusion facility is used for leaving animals in vehicle. It states switch ignition ON and OFF twice, then 3 bleeps should be heard then alight vehicle, as normal and lock as usual with remote. We only get 1 bleep. The alarm works fine on remote to secure vehicle but it's the ultrasonic bit we want working.
I have emailed Mitsubishi- still no reply. Acorn Mitsubishi in Birmingham, where we bought from, are worse than useless, so I'm struggling with where to go next. [mitshu]
