Last time round it got to £11,311 and he obviously turned them down. Now he's aiming for £12,500?

Should have pushed the last guy to £11.5k and run for the hills.

I know this probably sounds like sour grapes (maybe it is, a wee bit) but a quick bit of autotrader research suggests 58/09 trucks around 50,000 miles are listed at £8,995 to just over £10k.
I know from experience that cars advertised on autotrader don't go for the prices advertised and, just because some optimists will price them at £11k, does not mean anyone will even turn up to view them; they'll go see the £9k and £10k alternatives all day long.
And I reckon that most folks will view the "thousands of pounds spent" as somewhere between an unvalued curio and a list of expensive bits to repair.

So, Raging Bull or not, I still think he should have bitten the hand off of the guy who offered him close to £11.5k

Weeellll! Firstly, the unsurprising news - the truck didn't hit it's £12.5k reserve.
And the surprise? It got to £12,005!

I would hope that the seller would see sense and bite the arm off the optimist who bid twelve grand.
I'd then further hope that the buyer joins this forum so we can find out why she/he bid what they did!
