VERY easy to remove, may require 2 people to lift off though as its large.

Can get under the cab champion though, rear chassis and under tub, make it a MINT JOB,

Hmmm.... I have one and a half bottles of waxoyl and a sprayer and am just waiting for some sunny days to do mine.
Will the tub come off a new shape just as easily?

No legal reason why you need a tub. Just an artic tractor without the fifth wheel

ERRRR, the cops might notice that you wont have any rear light & two great big chassis legs sticking out the back. Would´nt like to drive into one of them

Aye, ok, fair point. Not illegal to have no tub but you do need to sellotape the lights and plates somewhere!

Chassis legs would be still protected by a rear bumper (if still fitted) if not I think the only illegal part would be sharp edges, just need covering.
But as said, lights would need a home or stick a trailer board on it..

JAIL BAIT...........not just plates and lights, rear wheels would have to have some form of mud guards covering them, as Lez said the rear chassis legs would tear the shit out of what ever hit them, the tub also forms part of the vehicles progressive collapse and by deforming helps to absorb the impact for both yourself and the vehicle hitting you.
So not a good idea, the white capped gestapo would love you for It mind, I'm sure you'd fulfill their construction and use quota for the week and pehaps a prohibition notice to boot

I did exactly this, removed tub and used me trailer lighting board for the lights at rear. Drove it to work, to jetwash and clean etc with the jetwash and airline to blow out chassis then drove home, drove past a few police and none stopped or questioned it,

Today I have been mostly fitting new locking valve caps after some theiving scrote nicked the original set, clay barring a wing a door and a pillar, and dodging the rain to complete the underbody / chassis painting.

All done now bar just need to drop the spare out to reach that cross member and I might do the front arches to match the rears now, decided against tub removal for now.
