The Old girl has died "requires new engine"

#1 by bakersvan , Thu Aug 30, 2012 11:03 pm

My beloved Green over Silver L200 03 plate, 4 life has given up the ghost bodywork in fantastic condition, tyres (road) not too bad, interior has 2 very small cigarette burns on rear seat (not me) rear space has a hard top with sliding windows, carpetted and the paintwok beneath has never seen the light of day. On top of that is has 10 months MOT but is going no where, other than e bay I suppose. Does anyone want to buy it?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place , and what a first post!!! But Tam tells me what a great Forum this is so I am after your help.

By the way the location is Stevenage

Thanks

Terry

There's a for sale section, Bakers. I'm not sure whether you need to be upgraded to post there, but upgrading is free; just pm "Admin".

Then you can put a full ad in, with pics, descriptions, etc.

Good luck!

I am not mechanical.
The garage say it needs a new engine.
We thought at first it was the "cambelt and then the Cam shaft" but no it was something else, and the cost of the replacement enging would outweigh the value of the truck.

And what a good truck it has been.
By the way the battery is 8 months old, I had forgotten that.
But looking on the bright side,Ican get back 3 months tax.

I will get the post moved tomorrow.

Thanks

Terry

The truck has a new timing belt.

I am looking (after taking advice from the garage) for offers in the region of £1250.
If you can let me know by 3.00 this afternoon. I will leave the tax on the vehicle March 2013.

"Mods and Administrators, if you want to move this thread to sales feel free.

Thanks

I have a 52 plate warrior, and my engine died due to oil pump failure, mitsibushi main dealer charged me £250 +vat to diagnose the problem and they are charging me £732 inc vat to fit my new engine and the recon engine is costing me just short of £1200. So just over 2k but i figured i would spend more on another truck and run the risk of buying someone elses problems. Atleast this way i know i will have a good truck with a basically new engine.

A Recon done right is just fine. But some are badly put together. I agree with you anth2009 but since you're at this stage already it would be worth having Mitsi to check that the engine is put together soundly first. Then you can motor with peace of mind.

cheers yoda, Lez reccommended a guy off this forum for my recon engine so i am confident that it will be sound, i just hope mitsi dont try to rip me off and say i need to renew this and that lol, i have ordered all gaskets and fluids from the same guy to try and save on costs from mitsi.
