Laptop speakers don't work?

I have a Dell Netbook. The little one with a the flip around screen. For some reason the speakers have stopped working


"LS200" - 1UZ V8, auto tiptronic, super select, Upol Raptor paint. Bigger, faster, louder, brighter.

The drivers for the sound card are probably corrupted, you should be able to re-download the drivers online. Check in control panel that there working properly.

Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.‌  If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

before you go too far make sure theres not a mute switch, lilyanns did the same till she discovered hers has a mute by the touchpad

It does have a mute switch. Not that. Speakers are integral. Going to try to follow Mr Fulwell's advice....
