Robl200's Build thread

#1 by robl200 , Sat Oct 27, 2012 6:25 pm

Well, the truck has had a fair bit done over the holiday... Shocks, shackles, diff seal + new oil, new discs + pads, hand brake adjustment, rear prop centre bearing + ujs and finally today got the front prop ujs done. Now I'm kaput!

Since I did thebrakes yesterday I'm getting a weird vibration when coming off the gas at about 60 and the front right brake squeaks when cornering to the left. Think the wheel bearings will need cleaned, greased and refitted to cure. Gonna try adjust steering box then should be ready for the mot!

You missed the bit about leaving a massive pool of transfer box oil all over the car park Rob, infact it wasnt even the car park coz sombody decided to park up on the pavement.

Wonder who that was eh ROB, what do you think ROB, should I tell them all who it was ROB

Easter holiday tinkering started today......

Finally got round to fitting my CB properly. Cut a hole in the back of the cubby and wired through to the battery.

Also got fed up of looking at my scabby wiper arms so gave them a touch up:

Before

After

TInkering will continue over the course of the week. Lots to do!

Well more work today....

Fed up with all the rust colour under my car so.... Paint!

Painted both front skid plates yellow

From the front:

Also got fed up having the bucket seats in my bedroom so decided to do something about it...

Only had time to fit one but will do the drivers side tomorrow. Modded the existing runners to fit. The seat does sit a little higher than standard as mentioned by basil and shogun who have had buckets in their trucks but is not too bad.

Yep - held it up for the mrs to see and asked "what do you think when you see this plate?". "Arse?" she replied.

Maybe we should all club together to buy L200 ROB?

More work today. Got the other seat in

Seating position is pretty high but not bad. Reverse puts the gear lever close to drivers inside bolster but body lift should sort that. Steering wheel is close to the legs but was thinking about getting a different wheel as mine is pretty worn and rattles like hell!

v nice Rob, high position is good for offroad, bod lift wont change the gearstick proximity to your leg/bolster unless you cut and shut the stem. Those seats look in good nick.
