Not much I can't fix on an engine or mechanically on the trucks, Engineering Technician by trade and when I get the tools Air con as well(F-Gas Certified)

Hi i have a 2005 animal and i have blanked of the egr i'm told i MUST bypass the cooler pipe can you advise how this is done and also is it an idea to remove the egr cooler as well? many thanks in advance.

Greg, you can either replace the two small hoses with a longer one, but support it on the middle with a 'P' Clip, or just get two 15mm straight copper fittiings and a short piece of rubber hose and join the short ones up.
Removing the intercooler is the most important thing mate, be rid of it, known common failure 2002 - 2004 engines.

Removing the egr and bypassing the cooler is a smart move, lots have done it, here is a picture guide done by GaryF

easier with the air filter bin out the way, only real pain bolts are the rearmost cooler ones


05 warrior, veg converted, no cat, no egr, no silly steel bin air filter, blood red shackles and poly bushed, buggered

try 7 up - snow white did

hi mate and advice on doing a prop center bearing and u/j's?? i would be doing id on my drive or can get use of a garage ramp for the day! or should i just leave it to a mechanic? as i've heard lots of horror stories. any advice appreciated. cheers

Next on the list... Fit 25mm body lift and add some green bits!!

I`ve watched several mechs struggle to press in the pesky uj`s and as I`m a spanner with a spanner, I know what I`d do.

need a decent vice to press the cups back in again, if you aint got a good one dont start the job

to sum up, over time the cooler part of the EGR system may become porous and allow hot pressurized exhaust gasses to enter the cooling system that can lead to head gasket failure. Others that have had it happen to them will comment further . have a read of this thread Why you should remove the EGR
