rear tub removal

#1 by Earlybird112 , Sat Apr 21, 2018 4:46 pm

Hi. Wondering if anyone can advise me on removing the tub from my l200 please. Its a 98 single cab and i believe relatively straight forward but advice before i commit would be great. After numerous mechanical problems , all fixed with help on here im waiting for the garage to patch the chassis thru the mot. Plan is when the trucks done a bit of work for me, to remove the back and restore the chassis and suspension. The tub itself is a bit rough and needs a new floor ideally but the chassis would benefit from plating , painting and generally sorting. I understand milners supply 4 bolts to attach the tub with but ive read about there being 6 and how some need re welding so im a bit confused. Thanks in advance

on a double cab there are 2 bolts near the rear of the tub then 2 more slightly further forward
the last 2 are buggers to get to as they are deep up near where the metal splash guards are next to the cab

ok. ill try to get down for the repair work the garage are doing as it may be more obvious on a ramp but access is pretty good normally as i can get under most areas without feeling too cramped. i wouldnt mid betting mine has a similar arrangement on the front tho! thanks for your reply

cab ones on a double cab are found if you lift up the rear carpet (that you dont have) and the front carpet, the other ones are right near the bumper at the front of the chassis
you can see one of the cab ones in this photo top right, circular bit about 2 inches across
I suspect you may only have 2 on your cab (that's based on no knowledge whatsoever)
