new engine

#1 by beavis , Fri Apr 05, 2019 7:39 pm

Hi all,
Loving my 54 plate warrior- though it doesn't seem to love me !!
After spending about 1.5k making it a nice truck its gone bang !!

Lokking at a complete engine from Milners - seem quite reasonable. Anybody had any dealings with these motors ? heard they're very good ?

The Milners engine seems to be the one to go for. Quite a few that have needed new engines have used Milners with no complaints that I'm aware of.

The garage that are going to fit it, fitted a Milners one a few months ago. They found a problem with it - said Milners were most honourable in sorting and paying the garages extra labour costs.
Have seen recon ones on ebay for the same money ?

I wouldn't touch a reconditioned one. We have heard far too many horror stories of them failing 6 months to a year down the line. A lot of times they are engines out of scrapped or written off vehicles that are literally just cleaned and sprayed up to look new. The sellers can list that they have done all sorts to them , but unless you strip it down you would never be able to tell.

defo, really cant afford it - logic dictates new all the way. The mechanic has had a good prod around underneath and says its good and solid, worth spending the right money for piece of mind.
