L200 / LWB Shogun

#1 by RizzleKicks , Mon Apr 22, 2019 1:04 am

Evening All,

Thanks for accepting me on the forum. I’m looking at buying an L200 or a LWB Shogun , budget in mind is £15,000 , looking for something with no more than 40K on the clock.

Own a LANDROVER at the moment and is needing welded , disappointed ☹️ but it is a 2004 and not had a hard life. So time to move on and the Mitsubishi looks like the perfect choice.

Now I have seen a few 2010 Shoguns with 40 - 45,000 on the clock but not to sure what to look out for in terms of models or recalls etc .

Also seen a 2011 L200 Barbarian with 40K on the clock for £11,900 and it’s an Auto box.

Can I put up links to to the ones I have seen to get advice and if so where do I post this ?

Hello there welcome to the forum
@ronniecabers will be doing you a welcome post shortly
in this, there is details of how to become an upgraded member
without being upgraded you will not be able to view all the forum so go ahead and post any questions (or links) you may have here and they will get moved to the relevant areas should they need moving once you've been upgraded and can then view them
your budget sounds realistic so you should have plenty of choice for the age and mileage you're after

Might be worth checking the annual car tax difference between the Shogun and the L200. Depending on age of vehicle it can be significant. Also the L200 with a decent canopy is way more flexible to use.

Mike has a good point there about road tax
might be worth checking out insurance too as the L200s classed as light commercial usually
also most L200s will be plus VAT

to post a link just copy and paste it into the thread
if this doesn't work then post the exact title of the ad and I'll search for it for you and post a link up

All depends if you look hard in your budget. It's all about the spec too, you'll grab a newer one with a lower spec for the same as a couple of years older with a higher spec, so think about the gizmo's you want. If you're really lucky, you can find vat free vehicles out there, and worth mentioning that if you have a business, you should be able to do a vat deferred buy on the vehicle registered into the company. Have a scout for ex lease fleet vehicles as they tend to get better servicing etc as part of the lease agreement.

Anything is possible, all you need is imagination or own a bank!
