2009 animal 163bhp - No Ralliart chip

#1 by Harland292 , Fri Aug 16, 2019 10:31 pm

Hi guys, hope your all well just hoping you could help me work out what’s going on with my truck..

So it’s a second hand purchase of around 4 weeks now and we purchase it for towing mainly..

It’s great truck but just after more power, it goes ok but I’ve had better tow vehicles and only towing a caravan of circa 1700kg

So the truck “apparently is chipped”

I can’t find no chip anywhere so if anything must be an ecu remap, with it been the 163bhp I was assuming there was a ralliart box, brackets there but it’s gone...

So I’m looking at remapping, even though “apparently” it’s been done..

Iv been logging boost pressure via obd reading and I’m getting 11psi spike to 10psi which seems very low for an apparently remapped pickup..

So is 12psi in the state of truck mentioned above mapped or standard or can’t you tell, Iv searched all over google and the forum to find very limited information on this...

I was going to purchase an agritune box but Phil says I neeed to be 99% sure it’s not remapped..

I don’t know why I thought the turbo should be a VT16 but it’s got a VT10 is this right?

Any advice on boost pressures with or without the ralliart box would be much appreciated or any other tell tale signs of a remapped ecu..

As I say the cars down on the logbook as a 163 which after a bit of googling is the 136bhp engine with ralliart

Hope that makes sense and thank you

Ashley

hello there
@animal might know the boost pressures as I think he runs a boost gauge
he may also have a ralliart chip for sale, he did a while back just not sure if he sold it or not

Little update so the V16 didnt come until 2012 on the 178bhp models and above so that rules that out..

Still trying to figure out if im ecu remapped as its not got any boxs fitted...

Had a slight issue with boost readings as the intake nipple with pipe to absolute boost pressure sensor was split, completely hanging off

So im now currently spiking 14psi and dropping to 13psi if anyone can shed any light on standard boost vs mapped boost

Im not looking for a ralliart box to refit as iv seen the stories that go hand in hand with the boxs.. Il probably just get the Agritine box once i know im currently standard

Thanks
Ashley

I can vouch for the Agritune boxes off Phil, I had one fitted on my 176 BHP Barbarian.
Takes power up to around 223, pulls like a train for a 1.8T truck.
Can be a bit scary in the wet, very tail happy and will spin the tyres in a straight line 1st 2nd and 3rd very easy.
If the truck had a 6th gear it would be awesome.
