Folding step

#1 by AD , Tue Nov 19, 2019 4:00 pm

Getting grief off the missus when she tries to get in truck as it's lifted and shes struggling to get in as her hip is playing up,SO
Does anyone know if it's possible or has anyone put a Land rover style folding step on the passenger side front.it would have to be bolt on so i could take it off before going off road.

What i do when i have to go and get my mother is use one of the many folding plastic steps that are on the market. She's partially sighted, on the rather large size and can hardly move but she can get in and out. When she's in, i just flatten it and put it in the footwell. This also means that you'll have to be a gentleman and help her in and out...... Unless you tie a bit of string to it and make her pull it in after her.

This is what i use

The folding steps are out there, but won't work if you have rock sliders, and the electric powered start about a grand. Otherwise, it's the yasser idea, or keep parking next to tall kerbs! I'd also look at a lower height grab handle somewhere below the window line to make it easier as well.

I've always liked the idea of those powered sidesteps that retract when the doors are closed
not quite as cheap as a folding stool though ----------------> Werbung: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mitsubishi-Ou...BkAAOSwMxJbumL3
saying that, it took me 2 and a half years to find the bars I've got now so I wont be changing anytime soon (once again thanks to 123hotchef for collecting them for me)

on my classic I kept a small folding stool behind the rear seats for when I knew I'd be carrying anyone who'd struggle to get in and out due to the height
used to have a couple of these on a boat years ago, they were quite handy ------------> Werbung: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/316-Stainless...~sAAOSw8U9cLAF9
