any ideas please?

#1 by paulw , Sun Jan 19, 2020 2:18 pm

The previous owner of out autocruise decided to fit an extra leisure batt under driver seat. Brilliant idea, but he didn't fit a sealed one!!I need to top up distlled water. what a pain to remove the swivel base! only three hex countersunk screws either side-- simples, oh no three out of six have been rounded off by a service mechanic previous to us owning it! there is no room to get a drill on them to drill out. Anyone out there have any ideas please.

cheers spud, access is pretty tight! just ordered a set of extractors so will pop them all out. got a great 'fixings' shop down here so will replace the lot with some decent ones.

thanks Kurt, my experience with french in the past WHY did we buy another pug? ( apert from 306)!! great van though , just the numpty before us and their mechanic couldn't see the prob which is scary. just ordered extractors so whip the old bolts out , sort batt and replace with proper bolts so it will be an easy check next time.

Illogical thinking again @paulw ! Save the buttache until you need to change the battery... Syringe and an inspection mirror.

I can only get to three of the six cells, rest are right under the swivel.

or take it to halfords and pay the minimal fitting fee and it's their problem to get the bolts out
