Mines155k so interested what you find....mines running fine but if i do a compression check and find a cylinder down id be gutted! Where do you stop ?new rings ,big end shells, valve guides etc etc....would you only do one cylinder or while your there go for it..the lot? keep us posted as I'm not far behind you ! Nik

I'm going for new rings all round and hopefully just big ends , will have a look at the head and the camshaft lobes , valves but head only a couple of years old . Hoping tongetvthe pistons out today and inspect the crank and sleeves . Getting the sump off has been worst bit so far !! Not easy with engine in .

Good man Jason ,keep us posted.. Is there a cross member that needs removing first before the sump comes off?

I took the torsion bar off but would be advisable to also remove the steering link as it would also help with replacing it . Mine has destroyed number 3 big end and now needs to come out with hindsight I would advise taking the engine out in the first place because it would be quicker and easier in the long run .
Anyone point me in the direction of an engine pls lol lol

The big end must have started to fail causing the lack of compression and the misfire , if I could have done the compression test earlier it would have saved a lot of time and not caused anymore damage , crankshaft and conrod might have been ok .

Is there such thing as oversize big end shells? Do no3 and "move it on".would a new pair of new shells take the play temporarily out of it? Otherwise you could spent a Sh1t load of dosh on it and time. Whats the bodywork like?...only a pub thoughts??

All questions that tbh I havnt got all the answers for yet lol . Body is good so have put on ebay for now as is and see how it gos , I've put a lot into it over the years si it's probably time to move it on to someone else to do , further cost of a new / recon engine it would be a good truck for the money .
