Common rail pressure sensor

2006 new shape. I have noticed a small fuel leak that appears to be coning from the rwil pressure sensor

According to workshop book, mitsi garage and my local back street garage, you have to replace the full fuel rail (£1000 in parts). I've seen the sensor as a separate part on miners, eBay etc. I'm thinking to remove the sensor, replace what I assume will be a copper washer and refit my sensor to avoid any coding in or anything.

Wondered if anyone else has come across this or replaced the sensor. I mainly work on Defenders and old army equipment so no real experience with common rails. I know the pressures involved and stuff so dont want to cock anything up

Thanks
