Are 35 " tyres worth the agro

#1 by Fingers , Thu Nov 12, 2020 8:07 pm

Thinking about fitting the pram with some 35/12.5/15's. Has anybody fitted the same, and if so, what have you had to change. Its already got 3" lift on suspension and 2" body lift. Currently running 33's on it. Cheers in advance

Mine is normal height with 33's so heightwise they'll go straight on. Maybe rub on lock though

Not sure you can get 15. Wheels on pram though?

I'd read something about having to change diff ratio's etc. Is this actually necessary?

No . Different ratios will be fine . But you wont fit 15's on a pram without spacers . You'll need at least 16's with a big offset .
And you will get rubbing on full lock .
I'm running 35's on 20" rims and I have 8" of lift , i was getting rubbing on full lock and dont even think of using your brakes while your wheels are turned past half way as the shifting weight will force the inner arches or lower sills onto the tyre .
Not trying to put you off . But 35's aren't straight forward .

@animal Yours looks the business. I fell foul to a cheap set of 33's on 15" rims. Cost a fortune to get them to fit. Suspension and body lift and 30mm spaces to clear the calipers. Happy with the look and drivability though. Have you upgraded the front drive shafts at all? Been looking for some heavy duty/high angle drive shafts with no luck so far.

Cheers mate . My drive shafts are standard .
I've got a unicorn 4x4 lift kit fitted which is a front lower arm relocation kit with diff drop and extended front hubs , and adjustable front extended shocks .
If you look in my build section of my truck I put a fair few pictures up while I was fitting the kit .
My overall lift consists of.
4" unicorn lift kit
3" spacers and shackle lift with helper springs on rear
2" bodylift
35" tyres

So with the extra height of the tyres I have about 11" of lift over standard

@animal . After looking at your build section, thats some serious transformation. Is the unicorn lift the same as the sun brand?
