power loss and white smoke

2008 warrior b40 started running lumpy when cold and blowing lots of white smoke but cleared when warm, thought it was glowplugs but they seem fine and working correctly also changed the fuel filter, today I changed the suction control valve which has changed things a little it now starts and ticks over fine but when I try and rev the engine it doesn't have any power between 1000-2000 rpm and blows a lot of white smoke? anyone have any ideas what I should be looking at next??
thanks
Ryan
