Tuning box has zero effect and I’ve got a spare port?

#1 by EdTrojan , Sat Mar 05, 2022 10:11 pm

Hi all, I’ve managed to get myself an original mitsi tuning box for my 2006 classic but after hooking it up to the ecu I’ve literally noticed no change in its performance what so ever! There is a six pin port on the metal tuning box with pink dot which I can’t seem to find the male connector that will fit in it? Could this be why I’m seeing zero change in performance or is there an installation process that I’m not privy to?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It should have two boxes.

Exactly the same as that. The cable on that picture is covering a 6 pin port/plug on the main metal part. It’s that 6 pin port that I can’t find anything to fit to

What kind of change should I expect to see after fitting the box? I suppose it does pull away a bit better and there is a little more turbo whistle, just not totally convinced those two things are worth the £220 I spent on the box when I reckon I’d get a similar response/change just by removing the cat which besides man hours, would work out a lot cheaper???????

Thoughts anyone?

@EdTrojan , you should gain about 20 bhp with the origianl tuning boxes , removing the CAT wouldn't gain that.
