Steering woes

B40 2.5 did
Ok been getting stiff steering so decided to have a look jacked up both sides of the l200 bothwheels off both track rod ends disconnected turned both hubs left to right with.no problems so not a ball joint. So everything back together amd left jacked up then started truck up moved steering slowly from left to right and it's stiff amd feels notchy at a certain point could it be one of the steering colum joints anyone else had a similar problem any help would be greatly appreciated.

does sound more like a rack issue but saying that have you changed teh power steering fluid, maybe its old and full of crud?
