i have a Mitsubishi l200 2.5 4x4
i live in portugal now very hot here
with around 86000 miles (140000 km )
My question is :
what motor oil should i use and if i should listen to the dealership in portugal
which use an 10w40 grade oil that my manual not support
Mitsubishi manual says this motor oil options :
SAE 30
SAE-20W 40
SAE 15W40
SAE 10W30
SAE 5W30
which also their table shows
that 15w40 goes up to 50C
and 10w 30 go up to 40C
i don’t know if to go with the dealership (10w40)
or manual
and if manual it is
so what should i use ?

winter peak (-2C )( 28 F) maybe 10 days in total
summer An average temperature of (30C) (86F) and 3 month of around (35C) (95F)
the car is really in good shape motor is in exellent condition
but still 86000 miles ( 140000 km ) and year 2004
the dealer says 10w40 is better because 15w40 is too thick and 10w30 is too thin
