Torsion bars

#1 by dazmanf , Sun May 11, 2014 10:24 pm

I believe my drivers side torsion bar is failing or weak. Wound it up to match pass side but it's went down again.
Anyone got a how to or guide as to how to change them and any specialist tools needed, thanks

To change them is easy but can be a pain.Jack the front end up off of the ground and then undo the adjuster bolt till it comes out.You should then be able to pull the tbar out once the adjuster end is off completely

As usual the adjuster bolts need a good coating of wd40 as the threads will probably be full of grit. Just make sure they are fully unwound before removing as there's a fair bit of preload in them!
