Mine leaked on a 56 plate after about 3 months from brand new, it'll be a trace of oil that comes with the air from the turbo...

Been told today that there should be no oil coming from that gasket, and that it indicates signs of the perished oils seals in the turbo. He said "that's why blue smoke comes out of exhaust on start up then stops".
Took the hose off that goes from the turbo to the intercooler and it's coated inside with quite a bit of oil so im going to get the turbo reconditioned.

AD I think we all find a wee bit of oil when you take the hose off.

Have you recently done an oil change? To much oil can also cause oil in the turbo.

That statement from the garage means that all of us with a seeping gasket have oil seals gone in our turbo? Isn't causing us any problem and seems a general thing with these trucks which we accept.Mine has seeped for years and only been wiped once that is how little a seep it is.
Wait till one of our more experienced come on later and you'll get a better answer.

Surely this could be the sign of valve stem oil seals

Cleaned hose from turbo to intercooler yesterday, done sixty miles today. Got back and cleaned hose out again-this is the oil lining the pipe.Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)Defo think the seals in the turbo need doing.
