Performance problems.

Hi all, figured i would ask the question here while im waiting for membership approval.
I have a 2006 new shape Elegance, when i got it about three months ago it would easily show 36+ mpg on an average run, 30 round town.
All of a sudden this has dropped to 26 on an average run and lucky to get 30mpg on a decent motorway run at 65mph ish.

Next problem might be related. Stick your foot down hard and the truck misses and loses power until i lift off the throttle, even on hills i have to lift
off when the truck starts to pull, again if i lift off a little she runs ok, keep your foot down and it runs worse and worse.
Best way to describe this lack of power, remember the older petrol when cold, put your foot down at it would fart about until you pulled the choke out.
Let it build up speed slowly and its fine. Lack of fuel on demand maybe???

It has got a Ralliart perforance chip fitted next to the battery, last owner said it was fitted by a main dealer. knowing very little about the L200
and tuning stuff. Any help or sugestions would be greatfull.

changing the fuel filter would be my first thought
also the tappets need adjusting on these after a certain mileage I believe ....... and an EGR/manifold clean too
I think @Nick and @Gezza had theirs done. If it's an Auto then @skotl may be able to shed more light perhaps
faulty power chips are not totally unheard of but not common place
