Knocking sound that's go me beat!

#1 by Dangerous , Wed Nov 05, 2014 9:13 pm

Hey guys, I've just bought a 2005 warrior, 125k on the clock.
Had it since Saturday, over the last few days I've noticed a clunk / knock noise.
It happens when I turn left and right, over some larger bumps, it sounds different turning left to right, like it flopping one side to another. To me it sounded like the fuel tank was loose and moving side to side but its not.
I've been under it and tried to see what's loose far as I can see its not: wheels, rear axel, springs, shocks, prop, fuel tank, running boards, cat, torsion bars, buck, tailgate, buck cover, doors, seats.

I'm 99% sure it's coming from the rear.
I think it's been lifted or springs stiffened as it sits high.

Can leaf springs klonk a bit when weight comes off them?

Please help its driving me mad!!!!!

Mine does the same, my exhaust brackets are broken and the tailpipe hits the rear metal arch liner/mud flap

Can only be that or leaf spring bushes I would think

Exhaust does hit the mud guard if I pull it really hard but it's not that, spear hit anything the other side to made the "opposite" noise plus all the hangers and rubber mounts are nice and stiff

Its an l200 mate, my first one was haunted by Dick Dastardly's mate, what was he called?........Clunk! Changed all bushes, all round, leaf springs, checked for a football rolling round the tub, chaged the shox, still did it....turn the music up

How would I check this?
What sort of play should there be if any?
I have the use of an tele fork lift at work so jacking up or even lifting via one wheel is not an issue.
