Washer jets ?

#1 by bart , Mon Dec 29, 2014 11:52 am

Anyone fitted those ...cover the whole screen .... washer jets ?

Also how do you remove the current jets ? Had a quick look and there doesn't seem to be anything holding it in, i expected to see a plastic nut or a clip but can't see or feel owt but it doesn't seem to want to pull out

Just pull the other ones out or get a plastic blade to leaver them off. The new ones will probably have a nut. The fan type are way better and don't get blocked up off road

Twist and pull.... i tried that but i must need a bit more grunt. The ones that are in barely reach the screen and have been cleaned every which way i can but still crap. MOT due next month so they need sorting and then i need to find out why the reverse light aint working

I swapped mine for fan jets the other day. Think there's a little clip beneath the jet, I used some needle nosed pliers to squish it in, then twist and pull em out.

My 4Life suddenly decided to play up in the washer department. Swapped out the jets for the Transit ones (much better, but still not perfect), you need a small lever in the hole in the bonnet strengthener to pop the clip, the new ones have a plastic 'nut' to retain them - then swapped out the one-way valve - less than 2 quid from H-Fuds. Swapped it in the car park (need to force the hose off the old one, mind your fingers if using a screwdriver!) washed my screen all the way home ... Wee, Wee, Wee, like the little piggies!

Don't forget that the plastic will be rock hard this time of year, if you can get to the back of it try a hot air blower or hair dryer to make the plastic softer.

Can someone post a link of the correct one to get please.

Ermmm no ! where would the filter be hiding ?

I am gonna stick some better ones on but if the filter is blocked then they may be duff aswell.
