Google back pressure.

Yer man probably thinks that he's massively increased the performance of his bike by introducing a "tuned exhaust with increased back pressure" whereas the reality is that he's done no such thing.
On the assumption that he replaced the original exhaust with some ratty £90 "performance" job, then ask if he's still got the old exhaust and you could always replace it.

Just test ride it as normal, ideally from cold initially.

Na both me and Ashleigh are looking to learn and amused the idea of having two to go out together, apparently the 125's are as strong as a fart In a whirlwind when someone's on the back

Yeah - most of them are restricted to 12BHP for the learners.

As you're a, err, "mature" driver then you have the option of Direct Access and learning on a 500cc bike...

125s are about as strong as a fart In a whirlwind without anyone on the back
good on ya for looking to learn bud ....... and if you have someone to learn with it's much more enjoyable
Direct access is indeed an option and if I were just starting out learning then that is the way I'd choose to do it

there was a place down my way (dont know if they still exist) that were offering a weeks course with the use of their bikes and safety gear (fuel etc blah blah blah) for about £500 including the price of the test and stuff
dont know if it's gone up (or down) since then

Isnt the Marauder a custom Harley style bike? If so the kick back could mean something like a slash cut exhaust, why not ask him? Have you got a link to the advert?

The ad was on a Facebook buy sell page, it is a mock cruiser style design which I prefer to, (as Jeremy Clarkson puts it, power ranger bikes), didn't get the bike in the end up, over looked my trucks insurance renewal in a couple of weeks

What is it you need the bike for? Those Marauders are horrible to ride and not too good for commuting so if you are looking for something to pop to the shops on you are better off with a 125cc ped of some kind.

Just a hobby bike to learn on to go out in good weather round the north coast. Wouldn't be used as a casual go between

See if you can find a CF125, Fantastic little bikes and built by Honda so they will never break.

Are you sure they are built BY Honda? A lot of there lower end bikes are/where built under licence in Brazil (I think) and are of quite poor quality. I serviced a young lads CG125 a few years back, it wasn't very old and the rear swinging arm was loose, turned out it was rotten from the inside out.

It's an interesting point, I was under the impression everything Honda comes from the main Honda plant for Honda Motorcycles in Japan but i could be wrong. I've only ever owned Kawasaki's that are all made in Japan.

Honda have been doing it for years and I am sure the YZF125 Yamaha is made in Italy

just the thought of 125 maurader's

get your DAS done on a 500cc

I did my test on a 125 and then had to buy a restricted bike (which was pants) - hella lotta fun when the restrictors come out

I wouldn't waste money on a 125 that you will want to change after one seasons riding

(P.S. i have two bikes GSXR600 and CBR400 - so ner!)
