So I'm looking a cheap but reliable tow rope/strap.
Had a 3ton cable one but crimp let go and cable slipped out of shackle.
Had a 3tob rope style one, it was maybe 3 ton in another planets atmosphere as it snapped towing a fek'n car!

See a load of different ones on the e of bay but thought I'd ask to avoid buying another piece if string.
Not looking to spend very much but looking something reliable

I got a 6tonne army strop.

Alas, it's French army so only works in reverse.

I used to use a 5t strap and 3 1/4 ton shackles, they were ok. Now I use a 35t strap with 6 1/2 ton shackles, nice...

Had it for about 6 years.
Used and abused it. Pulled wagons,trucks,tractors. Even tractors pulling tractors.
It's still going and is a good bit of kit.
Bit on the pricey side but you only buy it once.

Had e few of them,there ok for the occasional tow,but off road the mud eats em.

The brief is for a cheap and reliable tow strap, the machine mart ones are absolutely fine, I've got two, been using them for at least 3 years, off road loads with them and their still fine.
I have a much longer and heavier strop, but I hardly ever use it

I have the maching mart onew aswell. 5 tonne rating & D shackles. I think they cost about £14.00 + vat. Never had aney problems with them & Ive used them for towing trucks about the yard.

Good prices, Good quality kit too. I have a 10 meter black strap, a 2 meter blue double thick Tree Strop, some smaller 2.5 Ton D shackles for the Mrs Ford KA and some big chunkey 7 Ton D shackles for 4x4s. So far None of the ropes or Shackles have let me down and i have done about 15 recoveries. I even used he Tree Strop and Winch to pull a couple of burnt our wrecks off the offroad park and flip them back over with no issues. A worth while investment.

Remember that legally, on the road you cant tow with a strap longer than 2 meters.
